He blamed it on soemthing about a cultural shift --- that Shea no longer was the type of stadium where people would smoke dope in the upper deck, and Yankee Stadium was.

The difference between the dope-smoking morons (upper deck at Shea) and the dope-smoking assholes (upper deck at Yankee Stadium) was lost on him, I guess.

Posthumous celebrity dispensation hereby granted. Besides, I always confused his "White Harlem" upbringing and its proximity to the Polo Grounds with his being a Giants fan. As he makes quite clear, he loved the Dodgers.
