Guest AG/DC Guests Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 Because how are Willie and Co. going to get their act straight if we don't point out where it's crooked?

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 On any potential scoring hit I almost always go into 'coach' mode and try to make immediate decisions as to whether to send the runner home or not. From the moment Delgado's hit went into the corner I'm thinking that if Wright gets sent he's gonna be a dead man and we'd be crawling all over Alomar for sending another one to the gallows. So I know Keef talked about there being two outs and all but I'm not gonna kill Sandy for this one.Going with Wagner tonight (Sat) in the 10th was a better idea than the game when Schoeneweis went on his walk-a-thon. At least then you could match SS up against a slew of LHBs and save Wagner for the potential save since even if Wagner gets through unscathed he'd likely have to go to Schoeneweis at some point later on and not at a time where he'd have the luxury deciding who he'd face. That Schoenweis sucked that night doesn't negate the strategy IMO.Tonight Willie was probably thinking along the same lines with Feliciano for Gonzalez & Giles, except that this time he had to face two RHBs before ever getting to them and, of course, he never got past #1.

As the ball was being retrieved, I was expecting a play at the plate, and thought Wright might have a decent chance. I was surprised by the red light.
