Guest AG/DC Guests Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 Quite a boys' club we're building up.Just kidding, ladies. You know I love you girls.
Guest sharpie Guests Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 Those Alaska Goldpanner uniforms are pretty snazzy.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 I wonder if Jocelyn Pierce is shopping for pepper spray right now.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 I was thinking it'd be funny if they whacked Matt Cerrone from Metsblog and installed Harold Reynolds there.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 Great move IMO , hopefully he will take the bulk of the games next season.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 I never knew what to make of Reynolds and his whole ESPN flare-up.He certainly fought it like he was an innocent man and I kind of felt bad for him thinking that *IF* he truly was blameless he was getting a royal screwing. The 'Bristol Clown College' (as NYDN's Bob Raissman calls them) had a years-long rep for running a frat-like boy's club and may have over-compensated the other way in Reynold's case as a way to show how they've changed and get out from under a contract at the same time ... who knows? That said, I really don't care who's doing pre or post game shows as I rarely watch them anyway.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 I rarely watch them either but that's because I think Maz and Matt are useless , now I thought Maz was good for a bout a week then I soured on him , I have always liked HR and look forward to seeing him but really what can one do on a pre and post game show?.I would like SNY to do a show featuring Reynolds , Hernandez, Darling and Cohen in a discussion type hour long baseball show , perhaps a few times a week , live if possible.
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 That would degenerate into The Best Damn Sports Show, Period in about a second.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 Keith won't be available if it's filmed during cocktail hour.

But he's easily bored (he's said so himself,) and acts like a teenager with ADD when he grows disinterested.Keith and Ron may be two of the smarter guys who ever suited up for the Mets, but the two of them in the booth is still the Scum Bunch reunited, and Gary is often reduced to a fanboy with a good voice along for the ride. I don't want to be too hard on Cohen there. I'd probably play the same role or worse when surrounded with Met royalty. With only two of them, they usually keep the booth decorum sound, with the PbP man properly controlling the tone, but with three, games (particularly those in the late innings with large defecits) can descend into palling between Keith and Ron, with Gary yukking along to let on like he's down.
Farmer Ted Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 Julie Donaldson got out in time.
Guest cooby Guests Posted May 3, 2008 Posted May 3, 2008 Yay! Always liked Harold Reynolds; ESPN was crazy to let him go
