I am standing on the mound at Shea stadium. I've lost track of what inning it is. There are enemy baserunners on the corners. I'm in deep.

I look inside to find the strength to get out of the mess. I think of my catholic school training and devout faith. Then realize the Pope is at MFY stadium today and they are not even playing! My faith is shattered entirely.

I think back to High school and try to pull answers from the physics class I took about Mass & Energy...Dang! That was the class I was drinking Budweiser in the woods.

I think back to the community college kinetics class I took. I remember nothing about muscle memory.

Strangly, Out of the corner of my eye.. I see a jacket rise up the dugout steps. It is blue..very blue...Its' Its' The jacket!

The Jacket comes closer and I can see his eyes. They look different, brighter perhaps, intense.. piercing!

The Jacket comes to me sweeping his gray locks back. I'm now thinking of Keith Hernandez and "no play for Mr. Gray...but I must.

The Jacket put his left hand on my shoulder and leans forward. I feel his warm Flushing breath. he whispers into my ear..

"Said the Jacket to the Pitcher, how I wanted you to come, close to me and kiss me to the core, then you might know me, as no pitcher has done before." With a tender slap on the ass the Jacket returns to the dugout.

I am serene, confident and powerful. The batters are no longer cunning and baffling.

I snap out of it and throw a perfect 12-6 curve ball ground back to me, yes me! I throw a straight ball to first for an out to end the game.

We win! I must have the Jacket!
