Guest AG/DC Guests Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 This e-bay find is a 1977 interview disc featuring Jerry Koosman and Donn Clendenon, presumably discussing thier 1969 memories. It still has its original $.69 sticker from Two Guys. I bought it because I'm doing some research on Clendenon, but now that I have it, with the hole un-punched, and seeing how thin the vinyl is, I'm afraid to try to play it, lest I damage it.And I hate myself for thinking that way, because I damaged the hell out of my baseball cards as a kid and treated as suspicious anyone who fretted over the condition of their cards instead of playing with them.
Guest sharpie Guests Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Play it once on a turntable attached to a CD burner. Those flexidiscs hold up better than you would expect.
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Good thinking. Now I've got to dive into the gordian knot of computer wires and figure out how to do that.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Hmmm - now that this thread exists, I'll need to come up with a different picture for Yancy's thread in the NBF.The mug on the right is, obviously, from The Dugout, a restaurant on Long Island owned by Ed Kranepool and Ron Swoboda. My family ate there a lot when I was a kid. We never saw any Mets there, but we enjoyed the place's Metsiness all the same. The mug on the left was my grandfather's favorite, commemorating the 1969 World Championship. The thing was that, by the time this mug was made, my grandfather had lost his eyesight to diabetes. Nonetheless, this was his Mets mug, and he was very attached to it.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 The mug on the left is the same style of one given to me by my grandfather, which my wife broke, and which edgy (I think) pointed out an eBay ad which sold me a replacement. I drink lots of beer from that mug.
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Yeah, that was me. I'd watch ebay for a lineup of replacements, seeing as how kids spazz a lot more than wives do.
