Guest AG/DC Guests Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Yeah, you've got to love how Cal has a breathing tube, just in case.
Farmer Ted Old-Timey Member Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 Yup, Lucnhbucket, this sounds like the start if a new book.
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 Actually, Mets by the Resting Place is on my list of future websites.

Warren Spahn's stone is practically a biography. Two featured nicknames: "Hammer" and "Salty."And I've seen this before, but it always strikes me as odd when a living person's name is on a tombstone. Mrs. Throneberry shows her birth date, and all that's left to add is the date of her death (and Dixie's body, of course).
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 Met Widow Watch -- now that's a good book.

Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 It strikes me how plain Casey Stengel's plaque is. I bet the plaque in Cooperstown is larger than the stone on his grave. And what the heck is that garbage bin doing there in the background in Spahn's resting place? Some reverence for the great one, please!
