metirish Old-Timey Member Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 Did Wright get $20 million when Vitamin Water that he endorses was sold to Coke, Deutsch asks him.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 It irritates me to no end seeing players in non-team sanctioned baseball gear appearing in ads.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 If I remember correctly, Gary Carter's Ivory Soap commercial from around 1985 showed Carter in an actual Mets uniform, but he was surrounded by "generic" Mets wearing non-official Mets jerseys. I seem to recall that the extras all had the blue and orange reversed in their Mets script.I wonder what the reason was for that?
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 Donny Deutsch was my dad's class president at Martin Van Buren High School in Queens.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 I think teams have the right to sign off on where their logo winds up. There is an easy conflict of interest here with Wright pushing Vitamin Water while the Mets are the world's foremost Pepsi whores. They are bigger enemies than ever now that Coke owns Vitamin Water. The logo blackouts that always drove me crazy were the baseball cards in cereal boxes with hats rendered all in black.
