soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 "Lars (Ryan Gosling) is an awkwardly shy young man in a small nothern town who finally brings home the girl of his dreams to his brother and sister-in-law's home. The only problem is that she's not real - she's a sex doll Lars ordered off the internet. But sex is not what Lars has in mind, but rather a deep, meaningful relationship." This was a cute movie that could've benefitted well from a heavier hand in the editing room. The characters were appealing and Gosling was excellent in what had to be a tough assignment. You have to either suspend disbelief a little or have more faith in mankind then I do towards the end. Both my wife and I found it enjoyable and worth the price of admission. I gave it 4 stars.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 We saw this last night. It didn't quite succeed from my perspective though I see what they were trying to do and the actors did their best.
