Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 Anyone sporting the xenophopic notion that the Minaya-era Mets are pandering to Latino fans and forcing some sort of cultural change down the white man's throat might bet interested in this fine item, a 1967 Mets schedule in Spanish, complete with a loving inivitation to come to Shea from Sor y Sora Met.http://cgi.ebay.com/1967-METS-SCHEDULE-spanish_W0QQitemZ140146248051QQihZ004QQcategoryZ64495QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohostingAlso, check out the sexy scorekeeping in this 1963 scorecard>:
soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 Never seen hits indicated that way. Good game - Aaron homered.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 Breaking up strikeout of the side in the first inning. They rewarded him by double-swithching his brother into the game.Do you think the line-shading is for un-earned runs?

I'm taking that as four seperate lines rather than a shaded corner and thinking '4 bases rounded - run scored', as opposed to Aaron and Hickman's homeruns which are completely shaded indicating 4-base hits.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 I don't quite understand what I'm looking at.I'm guessing a pitching change after Hunt batted in the second.Did Thomas and Kranepool go back to back? It's Neal's 2nd inning at bat that confuses me. If he scored, I'd think there would be a line from 2nd base to 3rd.The other thing I notice is that the scorecard only allowed for nine batters. As far back as I can remember, there would be at least four or five additional lines for substitutes.

When the second pitcher came in he batted Hook's place and when the third came in he batted in Moran's spot maybe?Thomas and Kranepool both singled and came around to score. No lines from 2nd to third in Kranepool's and Neal's boxes is confusing me too. I'm thinking that both went first to third?
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 The reason I was thinking pitching change in the second inning is the bold line between Hunt's at bat and Snider's.I used to do something similar when I'd score games.
