* 4-2 Phils after 5 thanks to a Ryan Howard HR after the Phils got the rarely called "neighborhood" play in their favor as the Braves did NOT get the call at 2nd on a DP try on account of a straddled bag, and then they didn't get the close call at 1st either.
Phils earlier had two seperate runners thrown out at the plate, both by Jeff Francouer, and both were out by numerous yards.

* Eric Gagne blew another lead for Boston today - serving up a 2R HR to Tejada. Baltimore later won their 2nd of the 3 game series, both wins came via walk-off hits.

Who do we root for when Atlanta plays Philadelphia?

My feeling was that I didn't want either team to sweep. Not sure which way to root in the rubber game, though.

It's nice that we can be sure at least one of the teams will lose. Too bad we also know one of them will win.

Francouer had a shot at 3 home-plate kills in one game ... but missed the plate with his throw by about 30 yards. Heaved it over the 3rd base dugout and everything.

5-3 Phils and my Lord Antonio Alfonseca is fat!

Phils hold on 5-3, which wasn't easy considering that the Braves had 2 runs and 3 hits out of the first 3 batters in the game.
