Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2007 Posted June 29, 2007 Sorry about the delay. I will update this later tonight, but here's what you need to know for the afternoon game:JD Durbin starts this afternoon. The Phillies are his 3rd organization this season -- he spent spring training with the Twins, and then was claimed on waivers by the Diamonbacks. After getting shelled in one early April outing at Coors Field, he was waived and claimed by the Phillies. He made 10 starts in Triple A, (2-4, 4.55 ERA). This is his second major league start, with the last one coming in 2004 with the Twins.Link to KTE from earlier this monthPhillies have recalled Chris Coste, a catcher who impressed last year in his rookie season in 200 ABs (7 HR, 32 RBI, .881 OPS). Of course, that rookie season came at age 33. He also looks like Jamie Moyer's brother.Lieber and Garcia are hurt.Utley is leading the league in RBI.Howard has started to heat up.Phils won last night on a walkoff RBI double by Rollins in the 10th.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2007 Posted June 29, 2007 IIRC one of Coste's home runs was against the Mets, this series to me has the feel of a playoff series, that's overstating things but it feels damn important and I can't wait.
