Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 25, 2007 Posted June 25, 2007 Two reasons1) You can often get these things cut in half by appealing, particularly when it's a he said/she said kind of thing.2) It takes a week or two for an arbitrator to rule on an appeal. If their advisor tells them, "Dude, no way you're winning this one, or even get it reduced," you can drop the appeal and begin serving when you wish, against a weak opponent or on a night when you were scheduled to take off anyhow.
