btw, Mr. 'can't hit in the clutch or in New York' is now 11 for 20 in 9th innings this season, including 7 HRs, 5 BBs & 18 RBIs. 2 of those HRs were walk-offs, another was a (on the road) game-winner, while this latest one tied a game.

Tough week for Colorado and for their closer Brian Fuentes.
Fuentes blew a save in his 4th straight outing Friday night, including the last two via walk-off HRs.

His last 4 appearances add up to 2.1 IPs with 11 runs given up (9 earned) on 11 hits. Those raised his season ERA from 1.89 to 3.79

Well, there'd be one now, but...

Funniest thing I did find was a post on a New York Post blog about how easy it would be to fix the Yankees.

It is as simple as this. this offseason,

1)get new manager and gm

2)trade damon and sign ichiro to the yanks as the CF

3)let bobby walk and sign jermaine dye to right or bring up top prospect jose tabata.

4)get zambrano or trade for another good starter (d willis, c.c. sabathia)

5) trade for brian fuentes

6) make melky the permanent LF and make matsui the dh and tell giambi dont the let doorknob hit you on the way out.

7)resign jorge or get mike barrett and keep mo.

8) if we land brian fuentes say bye to farnes

9) keep andy and trade mussina if you land two good pitchers.

10)get shea hillenbrand as the permanant first basement or if your lucky get mark texiera. keep doug defensive specialist.

It reads like joelmon has gone over to the dark side.

The Rockies had a great few weeks leading up the MFY sweep but have absolutely come apart since. It's too bad since they're on of those teams who I mildly root for when I read the boxscores each morning.
