Our current "standard" starting eight lineup has a career total of 1,667 HRs.
Not that most of them were hit as Mets, but still, I'd venture a guess that that's a total that couldn't be touched in NYM history even by the likes of the mid-80s crew or a Mays-led 1973 lineup.

Reyes - 34
LoDuca - 71
Beltran - 205
Delgado - 407
Wright - 67
Alou - 319
Green - 318
Valentin - 246
========
1,667

btw, has anyone else noticed that Baseball-Reference.com now has up-to-date stats for the current season?
Used to be that they did nothing until the season was over and even that frequently took them month or two to add. More recently they had the new stats up in just a few weeks but now ...

They're probably trying to keep up with the Ultimate Mets Database.

Sorry, we're only measuring homers at the point of the lineup, right? So a lineup with Ken Singleton in 1970 wouldn't count his 250 subsequent homers.

A 2003 lineup with Piazza, Floyd, Alomar, Burnitz, and Vaughn would be competitive.

Would you believe there were a total of 6 games that year that all 5 of those guys in the starting lineup at the same time. Seriously.

April 19, 2003 -- which included Jay Bell's 195 homeruns to date -- still was short, with a total of 1,449 lifetime homers to date.

Alomar 201
Cedeno 25
Floyd 134
Piazza 349
Vaughn 327
Wigginton 8
Burnitz 210
Bell 195

The best 90s possibility would probably be '93, with Murray, Bonilla and HoJo, but that wouldn't come close.

An '86 combination with Foster or even an '89 with Carter/Straw wouldn't come close either.
