Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 It was senior citizen's night in Washington last night, as the Mets elder statesman led the way to a third consecutive Mets victory. Julio Franco and Tom Glavine turned in stellar performances against the Nationals. Franco went 3-5 and lacked only a triple to have hit for the cycle. His 5 RBI's helped pave the way to victory. Meanwhile, Tom Glavine pitched 6 shut out innings to pick up the win in his final tune up of the regular season. Another victory and another of my favorite beers for the celebration. All the way from the town of Plzen in the Czech Republic, we have Pilsner Urquell, the original pilsner. This beer has been in production since 1842, so I'm pretty sure that it's older than Franco.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 The poll options aren't showing up for me
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 I tried to add the options, to no avail. The entire board is acting screwy. I will try again tomorrow.Of course, this post likely won't go through either, so I'm not sure why I am even typing this.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 Okay, I've tried and tried, but it won't let me add the poll. I will list the options in this post and people can vote by typing in bold the name of the player they feel was the POTG.Beltran 1-2, 4 R, 3 BBChavez 2-5, HR, 3 R, RBI, BBFranco 3-5, HR, Dbl, R, 5 RBIGlavine 6 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 3 KGreen 3-5, HR, 3 R, 3 RBI, BBHopefully, this will work. Please cast your vote by typing posting the name of your POTG in bold letters.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 FrancoNot only did he drive in 5 runs, but they were 5 of the first 6 - that set the tone for the game.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 I don't have the ability to sticky this thread, but it could use a few more votes. I would like to get these (polls) closed out so we can all concentrate on cheering the Mets on to victory during the post season.
