Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Marlins starter Scott Olsen pitched a great game for 8 innings tonight. Unfrotunately for him, he didn't have the Mets bullpen to close out the game for him. Luckily, Tom Glavine did and that was a key difference in tonight's game. Once again, the Mets bullpen was spectacular. Four Mets relievers combined to allow only 2 hits during 5 shut out innings. The Mets offense tallied the 3 decisive runs with a great deal of help from the Marlins defense in the 11th inning. It was the second consecutive come from behind victory against the Marlins. This series had to be demoralizing for the Marlins. They had a legitimate chance of sweeping this series and end up losing 2 of 3 at home as their bullpen and defense was unable to preserve leads late in the last two games. I think it's time for some beer. Tonight we celebrate with Boulevard Zon Beer from Kansas City. It seems fitting since the poor fans of Kansas City have little to celebrate of late anyway. Tomorrow is an off day for the team, so drink up and enjoy.
