Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 And how are we currently feeling about this one?I voted Floyd and Milledge originally, and I'm still good with that. I wouldn't object to bringing Tucker along too, but with the way things are going, it might be better to have an extra pitcher in the bullpen.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 I think Milledge can't be left behind. He hasn't fully found himself yet, but that may be to the Mets advantage. Until he does, he's unscoutable. If he does suddenly find himself, he could unload before they get a chance to adjust. It's an unknown, but sometimes it's good to have a card face down in your hand. Right now is looking like one of those times.Tucker? Eh. Five outfielders are fine.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 I wouldn't object too much to Anderson.I'm not really arguing for him. But Woody backs up three positions and all.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 I miight, Rabbit. I might.Franco and whoever isn't starting among among Chavez, Floyd, and Green give you two pinch-hitters, with Milledge a potential third. The notion of carrying Anderson is (1) Woody is backing up for three positions, and (2) it's harder to pinch-hit for Valentin if they go after him with a good lefty, if there's only one reserve infielder. That said, I don't distrust Valentine against lefties as much as all that.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 I wouldn't. I'd prefer Tucker or Ledee to Anderson Hernandez.I wish they had called up Fonzie. Even if he's not what he used to be, and he certainly isn't, I think he'd be a more useful option (for October 2006 anyway) than Anderson Hernandez.
