Brian Bannister made his return to the Mets rotation. He got off to a shaky start as the first three Phillies batters reached base with hits and Ryan Howard added a sacrifice fly for the first out of the game. Overall, the Phillies only tallied 7 hits and 4 walks for the game, which were identical to the Mets offensive production. Unfortunately, the Phillies tallied one more run than the Mets, thereby ending the Mets win streak at seven games.

In honor of the red streak across the bottom of my stomach, where I did a poor job applying sunscreen, this game was sponsored by Red Stripe beer.
