Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 Tom Glavine gave the Mets a chance in this one, but Jon Lieber didn't. Chad Bradford relieved Glavine to completed a nice effort by the pitchers, but the offense was conspicuously lacking. What a wasted trip to Philadelphia. The Phillies outscored the Mets 27-4 in the three games and swept the Mets out of town in the process. Pedro Martinez had to return to the DL and the offense is sputtering with Cliff Floyd on the DL, Xavier Nady exiled to Pittsburgh, David Wright in a funk, and Carlos Delgado doing his best Doug Mientkiewiccz impersonation.A six pack of Southpaw Light is more than ample reward for tonight's effort.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 They're not officially swept out of town till they put up one or two runs tomorrow afternoon.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 I've been so busy at work and so depressed with the past three games that I didn't realize that their still another game remaining in this nightmarish trip to Philadelphia.
