nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 i'm wondering if theres anywhere i can find the win percentage for starters based on innings/runs?for example:6 innings, 3 runs, 50% win, 32% loss, 18% no decision7 innings, 0 runs, 90% win, 0% loss, 10% no decisionetc.any thoughts?
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 I might be able to dig that out of the UMDB for all Mets and opposing starters. That wouldn't give you a full sample, but it would give you over 14,000 game starts over more than four decades.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2006 Author Posted August 4, 2006 a pretty nice sample size to be sure, thank you.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 Okay, here's a sample.Starting pitcher goes 6 innings, gives up 3 runs. (I'm going with runs not earned runs here.)It's happened in 520 times in Mets box scores.105 times the starter was the winning pitcher.227 times he was the losing pitcher. That leaves 188 no-decisions.Is that the kind of stuff you're looking for?
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2006 Author Posted August 4, 2006 exactly what i needed, though i fear that the "met history" thing may not help for my purposes since times have changed alot, i'd still be happy to see the data though.
