Carlos Beltran and the Mets had a grand ole time in Cincinnati tonight. Beltran hit a grand slam for the second consecutive game and the Mets pulled away from the Reds late in the game. Xavier Nady and Jose Valentin also homered for the Mets.

Mike Pelfrey, making his second career major league appearance, pitched 6 impressive innings to earn the victory. We can only hope that his promise will last longer than Soler's did.

A "Gold Medal performance" from the team deserves a Gold Medal beer. So tonight, celebrate with a chilled bottle of Dortmunder Gold.
