Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 The Mets didn't exactly pound the ball, but they made the most of their hits by bunching all 4 of them together in the first inning. Pirate starter Kip Wells, aided the Mets effort in the first inning by walking Beltran, plunking Floyd, and throwing in a wild pitch for good measure. After escaping the first inning, he settled in and completely shut down the Mets offense. It was too little, too late though, as El Duque had his "A" game going tonight. He threw 7 innings of shut out baseball before turning it over to the pen. Bradford and Sanchez finished off the shut out with each throwing one scoreless inning. So celebrate the Mets modest win streak of two games with Cookie's favorite beer (or at least it should be). Grab an ice cold bottle of Scarlett Lady Ale E.S.B. from the Stoudt Brewing Co. of Adamstown, PA and cast your vote for tonight's POTG.
