Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 No relation to Jimmy Devaney, the kid on my street who 30 years ago nearly burned his house down imitating a scene from the Little Rascals where they heated a bed with candles.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 We had Eric Devaney, who had moved to Long Island from New Zealand, but was probably US born because he lost any hint of an accent almost immediately. Eric was the first kid in our school to get a rockabilly pompadour and then the first guy to get a punk earring --- a fake rusted nail.I think he may have even gotten the Stray Cats logo tatooed on his arm.
Guest SI Metman Guests Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 7 shutout innings in his Binghamton debut this afternoon. Allowed only 2 hits and went the distance in the second game of a doubleheader. He replaced Pelfrey in the rotation.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 Drafted just 2 years ago and already 25 y/o?Sounds not only like the rare college senior draftee but an older-then-usual senior at that.Guys like that have a smaller margin for error than younger draftees and sometimes really have to soar in order to make an impression - and it sounds like he is.Rubin seems to have the best handle on our minor legue system of all the beat guys.
