Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 The Mets rebounded from their loss in the first game of the doubleheader with another thrilling walk off victory. Tom Glavine again gave the Mets a solid start when the team needed it. The bullpen stalwarts (Heilman, Wagner, and Sanchez) combined to pitch 4 shut out innings of relief to allow the offense to win it in the 11th inning.Paul LoDuca opened the Mets 11th with a single and moved to third on Carlos Delgados double to left center. With one out in the inning and the bases loaded, Chris Woodward hit a shallow fly to right field which scored the fleet footed Lastings Milledge, who was pinch running for LoDuca. It was the Mets 9th walk off victory in 29 home games this season. So down a frosty Dos Equis Amber in celebration of the Mets victory. It was a long day at Shea so be sure to save a few bottles for our POTG.
