Torrential rains forced the cancellation of the series opener against the Giants. So on Saturday, the Shea faithful got to enjoy an old fashioned doubleheader. Though, they likely didn�t enjoy the weather or the outcome of the first game all that much. Orlando Hernandez was ineffective in his second start as a Met, as the team continues to search for consistency from the starters after Martinez and Glavine. Giants catcher, Eliezer Alfonzo making his major league debut hit a 2-run home run home run that was the difference in the game.

Even though the Mets lost, it�s hard to beat a doubleheader at Shea. So raise bottle of Dos Equis Special Lager in honor of our POTG.
