After a promising start in his first major league appearance, Soler turned into a pumpkin in his second outing. The Diamondbacks battered Soler for 7 runs on 8 hits and 3 walks in 5 innings of work. Darren Oliver pitched 4 innings of shut out relief, but the Mets offense couldn�t break through against Arizona�s starter, Miguel Batista.

Fittingly, this game was sponsored by Smuttynose Pumpkin Ale. Of course, this is a seasonal brew so the POTG will have to wait until August to collect his six-pack prize.
