The Mets avoided their first 3 game losing streak of the season. Tom Glavine continued his brilliant string of pitching and the Mets found their hitting groove. After the brilliance of Josh Johnson in the series opener, the Mets seemed ecstatic to see Dontrelle Willis on the mound. Willis has enjoyed great success against the Mets during his young career, but not on this day. David Wright collected 4 hits in as many at bats. Carlos Beltran and Julio Franco added to the offensive onslaught for the Mets.

Tom Glavine provided the strong start that the Mets needed, while Wright provided the offensive support that Glavine needed.
