Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 The Mets got back to winning again, but it sure wasn't easy. Another 5 inning start from the rotation exposed an overworked bullpen staff to a good Brewers lineup. As good as the bullpen has been for most of the season, the Mets can't expect them to pitch 3 to 5 innings virtually every game. The bullpen's effectiveness seems to be suffering from the numerous early exits by the Mets starting pitchers. The Mets offense continued to abuse the Brewers pitching staff. Twelve hits and four walks produced 9 runs and a thrilling victory. The Mets have amassed 24 hits, 7 walks, and 15 runs. It's nice to witness such fireworks from the offense, but the pitching will need to improve for the team to sustain any prolonged winning streaks. At least we got the first win. The POTG shall get to savor the sweet taste of victory over a 4-pack of Sprecher Special Amber.
