I didn't catch this one live this afternoon, but I'm watching the replay.

Brian Bannister didn't have his best stuff, he loaded the bases in the first and the second innings, and just wasn't sharp. OTOH, he stranded a bunch of runners, and only gave up one run (on a bases loaded walk). He showed he can pitch well under pressure, which is good to see.

After five complete innings, it's 1-0 Astros.

Bannister starts the sixth, giving up a walk and a hit. He's pulled after 98 pitches with none out in the inning. Chad Bradford is coming in the game.

Mets lose, 3-1. Bannsiter took the loss, but only one of his three runs was earned.Lambin and Keppinger each made errata, perhaps both at third. Two of the runs were apparently scored on bases-loaded walks, and the third on one of the errors.

Jorge Julio struck out two in his one inning of work. He's got a zero ERA in five innings (seven Ks), but has allowed a homer. I think all homers should count against your ERA. Baserunners who should have been erased by a third out shouldn't count. But guys who came up after the error and came around to score should.

You should have put up a spoiler warning Edgy.

In the 6th, after an intentional walk to Berkman to load the bases, Bradford walks Lane to make it 3-0 Houston (I missed a run somewhere). A pop up too centerfield ends the inning, stranding three runners.

And, as Edgy pointed out, that's it for Houston's offense today.

Milledge looked sick against Pettitte today.

Not in a good way.

I thought Bannister looked good, considering he didnt have the best stuff.
