Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 He would be the first Caleb in Met history.Nice walk numbers.
Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 i saw him play with the Cyclones last year, and he looked pretty good.
Guest GYC Guests Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 He's not on any of the Mets' rosters... no Kingsport, no Brooklyn, no Hagerstown, etc.=(Edit: I found him! He was in St. Lucie the entire time. I didn't think he'd jump from Brookyln to St. Lucie that quickly.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 A lousy dozen games bench riding. Ouch.
Guest GYC Guests Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 Things aren't so good for Mr. Stewart. As a bench player for St. Lucie, he has played in only 24 games, going 14/76 (.184) with 8 walks (.284 OBP) and 26 K's (almost a 1:3 BB:K ratio).
Guest GYC Guests Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 Well, things are look a LOT better since my last update on Mr. Stewart. He finished the '06 campaign in St. Lucie with better numbers than he started. Caleb finished with a .259 clip in 243 at bats, and slugged an impressive .519 for a .861 OPS. 14 homers, 42 RBIs to go with 17 doubles and 2 triples. His BB:K ratio didn't improve much (24:52, or about 1:2.2).However, he truly seems to be finding himself a bit for the Binghamton Mets this year: Through 39 games, he's hitting .324 in 139 at bats with a .353 OBP and a .519 slugging percentage (.871 OPS). He has 30 RBIs to go with his 7 homers and 6 doubles.Unfortunately, his K:BB ratio is as terrible as ever; 7:33, or about 1 walk for every 5 strikeouts. Caleb also won the Eastern League Player of the Week from 05/13 to 05/20. http://www.easternleague.com/ppow.taf?week=505Binghamton Mets outfielder Caleb Stewart has been named the Eastern League’s Player of the Week for the week ending May 20th.
