Guest holychicken Guests Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 ]I doubt someone would actually SAY "lol".I actually did once, right after laughing and talking to my friend on the phone. I was pretty embarassed. However, being a computer dork as well, he understood. He always says "burb." (brb)
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 Do people REALLY laugh out loud every time they type LOL?The way I see it, if you're not laughing out loud, you shouldn't type LOL.And if you're not rolling on the floor (which makes it hard to type) then you shouldn't say ROTFL.The same holds true for ROTFLMAO.I've never typed LOL, by the way. I can think of two instances when something on the CPF actually made me laugh out loud, but I refrained from posting an LOL:1. Willets' scouting report on Jesus.2. Edgy's careful parsing of a UMDB memory of Dave Kingman, which described a school bus bouncing over the outfield wall. Both of those posts were on ezBoard, and are presumably lost.

I only really use lol when I'm in a hurry or "chatting"--it's decent shorthand.
Guest cooby Guests Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 I've always been fascinated by the phrase LMAO. That would be a remarkable diet aid
Guest Bret Sabermetric Guests Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 I myself take LMAO-inhibitors.Work great. Haven't cracked a smile in months.
