Guest Bret Sabermetric Guests Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 When I was a six-year old reading "Batman" comics, I asked my dad what does "Got-ham" mean?He told me that it means you had ham.I accepted his answer. And ever since, I've accepted the importance of pork products in forming our sensibilities.

Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 Nice.Does the lack of attributed facts in the article indicate the deeply placed source was noted Japan insider Shingo Searchengine?
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 Cool piece, this guy could be a fan fave quickly, and his reggae song is a classic....lol
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 ]Iriki throws five pitches, including a shutoIt's not a pitch he had as an amateur, so it's essentially a pro-shuto, most likely something he picked up while fighting hams.

patchyfogg Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 We must scour this website for Wifey Watch:http://www.yusaku-iriki.com/Also, we can send him an e-mail there, too.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 It looks like #49 is special to him, on his site he has a 'club 49' link...checking the 40 man roster that # should be available, if not I think we can expect Iriki to fight for it down by the chop shops.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 The scouring has been done and I've come up empty. If you'd like to do me a favor, feel free to write him and ask if he has any photos of his wife to share.

An oldie but a goodie, I know.By the way, I made a "pig" of myself with a spit take on Frayed's Pro-shuto/Ham line.

Guest old original jb Guests Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 The Nippon Ham Fighters really do fight on behalf of ham.Nippon Ham, the company that owns the team, is a Japanese meat packing company. The Fighters are apparently one of the least successful teams in Japanese baseball. I guess there really is more synergy between media companies (Yomiuri Shimbum--Giants) and baseball temas than there is between meat packers and baseball teams.Bet the Fighters have a good training table, though.http://www.nipponham.co.jp/en/
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 I guess it could have been worse. At least they're not known as the Nippon Meat Packers. What the hell is Green Bay packing anyway?
