Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 Baseball Prospectus took Bobby Valentine up on his challenge, and have been "playing" a Diamond Mind series between the ChiSox and Bobby's Chiba Lotte Marines in order to determine the real "World" Series champion.They first explained the parameters of the challenge and then dove right into the games.Chiba Lotte drew first blood by thumping the Pale Hose in Game 1But Japanese import Tad Iguchi turned the tables on his former countrymen in dramatic fashion to steal Game 2Game 3 saw the Series shift to Japan and also saw the Sox overcome an early defecit to take a 2-1 Series leadA huge 3rd inning turned Game 4 into a walkover for ChicagoAnd the South-Siders finished it out and sent the home fans away disappointed in Game 5
