Guest mlbaseballtalk Guests Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 From the Countdown to 400 and 300 thread:]Jones, IIRC, was more like a 'B' or 'C' which meant only the supplemental pick to the Mets. Great for us since it that pick became David Wright but it was no skin off the signing team's nose. Jones himself was a supplemental pick for the MetsWho was the Free Agent that would eventually lead to the drafting of Bobby Jones, and in a round about way, the drafting of David Wright?

Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Hampton was the cause of Wright's selection, I thought.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 Darryl Strawberry signing with the Dodgers gave the Mets the draft choice that they used on Bobby Jones.
