Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted August 27, 2005 Posted August 27, 2005 Interesting note from Snooze notes column about the whackiest lefty in Norfolk:KOO KOO: Reliever Dae-Sung Koo's on-field performance might have merited a demotion anyway, but the southpaw angered teammates and earned a ticket to Norfolk on Sunday by telling coaches he was available to pitch before the game, then declining to warm up once the call came to the bullpen, according to team insiders. As a result, Aaron Heilman had to pitch an extra inning and Roberto Hernandez was forced to warm up.Koo had pitched for the first time in 11 days the previous night and allowed a two-run single to Washington's Ryan Church while throwing seven straight fastballs. The insistence on exclusively throwing that pitch also raised eyebrows. Also sez the bullpen shortness won't be solved till 9/1 callups: I hope we can make it that far or Willie gets more creative in his choices before then. It expects Hamulack, Shingo Takatsu, Ring, etc etc

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 27, 2005 Posted August 27, 2005 Well, if he's done with the Mets as it is, I guess flipping him across town (or to anybody else that grabs at a LOOGy with a sub-4.00 ERA) wouldn't be such a bad idea.
