Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2005 Posted August 10, 2005 ]Mientkiewicz said the flight to San Diego from New York on Sunday night was the "most uncomfortable, miserable five hours of my life." But that misery won't compare to what he will endure if he must return to Port St. Lucie, where he spent time during his last DL stint. "If they send me there, I'm not coming back," he said. "See you in Spring Training [next season]." http://newyork.mets.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20050809&content_id=1164147&vkey=news_nym&fext=.jsp&c_id=nym
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2005 Author Posted August 10, 2005 I'd just as soon he not show up for spring training in Port St. Lucie next year. He's a nice man and all, but he's only valuable as a defensive replacement, and those aren't very valuable when the position is first base.
