Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 I imagine Trachsel pitched well enough yesterday to knock Offerman out of the magic top 30.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 Cheers to David Wright. I intend to pound several Scheafers in his honor.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 "I think we under-rate starting pitching a little and relief pitching more than a little."Well, that's why we'll look at things subjectively when it comes time to rate the entire year.In any case, I'd be surprised if Wright/Floyd/Pedro (in one order or another) don't wind up as the top 3 as they are in the PotG.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 Hernandez is 20th and he should be like 11th.The system (and my fault here), has one fatal flaw with the standard ten-point thingie. Most players are as likely to play in a loss as a win, relative to the team. But some relievers pitch when a team is behind, and others when the team is ahead. Aaron Heilman becomes the top ranked reliever by always scoring his points on days when the competition is down.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2005 Author Posted September 6, 2005 Maybe next year we can tweak the rules a bit:Award 10 points for a win.Award between 5 (or 6) and 10 for a loss.I think that should stem the point inflation we're seeing.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 I'd like to play around with this year's data at the end of the season.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 I can't wait until we start debating the rankings.
