Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 Quality first inning for Zambrano, whiffing Abreu looking and Thome swinging. It's time for Tejada's magic to end. This is a Big Game in my estimation.
Guest KC Guests Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 Nice first two plate appearances by Reyes. On the first one he got Tejedato chuck 12-13 pitches before flying out. On the second he walks, got Tejedato pay him so much mind that he stepped off a bunch of times and threw overtoo. Cameron doubled him in from first and went to third on the throw.
Guest KC Guests Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 Beltran doubles in Cammy, Floyd walks, Piazza K's, Marlon Anderberry (18)pops up, and it's up to Mr. Wright to bring in two.
Guest KC Guests Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 Wright K's, two left on (with no outs, I believe)
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 That turned out to be an awful inning. 1 more baserunner was the knockout punch for Tejada but he stayed on his feet to the bell. Two disappointing ABs for Wright so far. He did a nice job of working Tejada this time but whiffed. His first AB was poor -- a first pitch groundout to SS with a runner on 2nd and 1 out. That let them iBB Dauber and retire Zamby for the 3rd out. We've got to turn the screws when we have the chance.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 Hernandez, after that RBI single makes two excellent points that Frannie seemingly would've missed: (1) Zambrano shook Piazza off twice before that RBI change; (2) Utley had no business not going to third.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 Why wasn't the infield fly rule called there?
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 Predictable response to that outburst, but at least Zamby limits the damage. If we don't spank this punk out the game NOW!!!! I'm gonna be unhappy.
Guest KC Guests Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 Who is Dogback? I had my back turned on the play. F X, where are you?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 Hernandez just busted on Frannie a bit for his overuse of cahnfidence.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 Fran took it well.I'm CAHNfident this Tejada character should have been out of there 2 innings ago. Give us a laugher once in a while wouldya.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 Who was I disagreeing with that Zambrano was lucky last time out?THAT was lucky.Holy crap, Mr. Excitement.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 Not that I don't think Zambrano's done, but I think he'll get dusted if he comes back to the plate.Watch out, Cliffy.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 Excellent, Carlos.I think Abreu didn't know where the wall was.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 No, I don't care who the Nets' first round draft choice was, thanks!
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 This is wickit! Everybody hitting the ball hard in Thome's direction. He finally stops one, but the Mets go up 4-1.Which number Met is Jose Offerman?
Guest abogdan Guests Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 Why'd they take Tejada out after only 4 innings? Not that I'm complaining now that Geary's given up 4 runs.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 He'd thrown about 200 pitches in the first 4 innings.Jose Offerman is Met #765 by my count but first in your hearts.I coulda sworn he was a righty only and not a switchy. But I never saw him play much anywhoo.Welcome Abordick!
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 Heath Bell, givin' 'em Hell!Let him go for the four-inning save.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 Offerman (career .361 OBP) should be in the lineup as often as possible. and probably leading off if he still has the decent speed i remember from a few years ago.Victor Houdini made me cringe tonight, but hey 1 run is 1 run.
Guest KC Guests Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 And six is six ... I forgot Offerman was on the Mets.
Guest KC Guests Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 Piazza with the token inconsequential two run homer and Mets announcers give their token accolades. 8-1, good guys.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 ]Give us a laugher once in a while wouldya.Done.Why is Bell being pulled with an 8-1 lead?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 I'll take all the inconsequential homers Piazza's got, as well as his consequential RBI single.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 I guess if Ring is going to be an effective lefty specialist by the end of this season, Willie wants to get him as many chances in the role now, particularly with a margin for era which encourages Ring to throw strikes -- which has been his main problem. He got Abreu's and Thome's butts to fly out and now he'll have cahnfidence that he can do that in September. That's my thinking about Randolph's thinking, anyhow.
Guest KC Guests Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 >>>I'll take all the inconsequential homers Piazza's got<<<Oh stop, wouldn't you like to see more from time to time with men on in close games instead of pop- ups and grounding into double plays?
