Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 Coach Jerry Narron named interim manager.Question for discussion: Had Randolph been hired by Cincy back when, would he be out of a job today?
Guest sharpie Guests Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 Almost certainly. Wasn't he up for whoever the manager was before Miley? Or even before that? There's a lousy org.
Guest Spacemans Bong Guests Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 They should have done this weeks ago when he started being a dickhead to Griffey and Dunn.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 What did he do to Jr. and Dunn, apparently the Reds locker room is not the happiest place these days, the Vultures are circling, what can they do though, trade Dunn and whoever and get pitching prospects?
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 The Reds also canned Don Gullett as pitching coach and replaced him with Vern Ruhle.Yeah, that'll help them....
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 Miley would inexplicably bench them for no particular reason. And he decided that they were losing because the two of them had massage chairs in the clubhouse, so he removed them.Dunn was pretty unhappy about Graves getting let go and Kearns being sent down, as well. That's the extent of my Miley gossip, though . . . If I were the Reds, I'd try to convince the Yankees that Griffey can still play center field and get some mediocre starting pitching prospect from them. Probably still have to pay part of his salary--or better yet, take Brown + prospect from them, and have them pay a large chunk of Brown's salary. I'd do that deal if I were the Reds. Then I'd slide Wily Mo over to center field, call Kearns up, and consider trading either Casey or Dunn for a top pitching prospect who's just about ready. Offer Dunn to the SABRE guys and Casey to the old-skoolers and see who comes up with the best package. Their pitching would still suck, so maybe I'd try and take on a reclamation project or two. Scan the waiver wires and pick up the DeJeans who don't pan out and rehab them in the minors.
Guest SwitchHitter Guests Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 Griffey and Dunn had massage chairs that were removed from the clubhouse by Miley. Also, Larue had a desk. And Dunn had hung a Graves jersey in honor of their former reliever. Nope, these guys were not happy with Miley.
Guest SwitchHitter Guests Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 Maybe he was studying....they are the tools of ignorance.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 A good friend of mine, a Reds fan, just asked me - "Let me know how Vern Ruhle was as a pitching coach."Whoo boy.....
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 The best pitching coach of all time couldn't make that staff any better, they have terrible pitching.
