Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 Piazza gets hurt in the top of the first by a foul ball, so he's out of the game. Castro gets his place at bat and behind the plate.I don't like this, not one little bit.....
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 And in his first at bat of the night, replaceMet Castro has an RBI double.Piazza is going for X-Rays on his wrist.Perhaps my adoptee Joe Hietpas should keep his suitcases packed....Jason Lane makes a nice catch to end the inning. 1-0 Mets after one.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 It's a 1-2-3 top of the 2nd for Zambrano.Let's score some runs now!
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 Question for discussion: What's Victor Zambrano really like?I don't recall ever hearing him interviewed and he's rarely quoted in the papers. I don't think this is because he still struggles with language. I ask because back in the B.T.V. era this year (before the TV games returned) something funny happened during a game (I don't recall what) and Gary Cohen made it point to say "Even Victor Zambrano cracked a smile."Is he a jerk? Standoffish? Depressed? Retarded?Discuss as he lays down a sacrifice bunt.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 Cameron batting with two on, two out after Reyes fans.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 Cameron walks, loads bases for Beltran.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 Carlos is 0-3 with the bases loaded as a Met.Can we pretend Pedro's pitching so we can get a grand slam?
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 Hard grounder to first ends the inning.Mets 1, Astros 0.I'd been wondering the same thing about Zambrano. I don't think I've ever read a quote from him. (And you'd think he'd be asked about Kazmir.) Does he speak English? I really don't have any idea.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 Uh-oh.Floyd's hand gets stepped on by Biggio as he slides into second.Trainer is looking at him as he walks off the field. This could be a costly day.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 Cliff gets a bandage and stays in the game.Top of the fourth.(It was his left hand that was stepped on.)
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 RBI double by Biggio (over Floyd's head) ties the game.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 Mr. Excitement whiffs out a potentially big inning and it's 1-1.If Cliff has to go it essentially leaves the Mets with only Woody on the bench. Minky and Cairo resting boo-boos.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 X-Rays negative on Piazza's wrist. Day-to-day.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 Mr. Excitement sez: Leadoff doubles don't faze me none.
Guest Spacemans Bong Guests Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 The Mets are in Oakland next week? Bad ass!
Guest Bret Sabermetric Guests Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 Astros up 3-1 on RBI hits by Ensberg and Lane in the seventh.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 Ugly game for us offensively so far.We really could use a couple consecutive hits.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 This game kind of sucks. I'd like a rally soon, please.

Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 Good point. I think I'd get excited if we started hitting, though . . .Wheels is on. I always liked Wheels. He's having a great season.
Guest cooby Guests Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 Some excitement as the Mets get two men on, but do not score.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 I still don't believe in the Mets offense. If Beltran is going to loaf around like he did tonight he may as well have gone on the DL.I disagreed with bunting VZ with one out and Matsui on first. Why not have him hack and give Matsui a chance to steal? Tonight Ensberg showed that good things can happen if you only put the bat on the ball.Frustrating game. We're going to have to hit better when the Angels arrive this weekend.
