I didn't realize Latrell Sprewell plays left field for the Mets. My opinion of him will be tainted forever. Yes its a bad metaphor for someone who is making tens of millions of dollars per year but still.

And besides that what one makes and what one spends is all relative. I know lots of wealthy people who live paycheck to paycheck because as they earn more they lifestyles increase exponentially.

Will these people ever be homesless and destitute? No, but if somehow their current earning status was reduced or stopped completely drastic changes would have to be made.

Don't assume that just because some make what appears to be a boatload of money that their lives are perfect.

Money doesn't buy happiness. It just makes it easier to attain by removing a lot of obstacles.

Maybe he's mad? He hits a grand slam off Oswalt then gets drilled twice as a result, yet has no ability to get any one-on-one recourse without hurting the team.

So, he stays on the field, does the right thing for his team, and talks later. Of course he was mad. This asswipe has thrown at him twice, and yesterday's was particularly egregious since it was clearly done in a situation where Floyd would have been intentionally walked.

Also a bit of a difference between Sprewell complaining about having to struggle to feed the family without an immediate contract extension, and Cliff saying that he doesn't want to do it with a possible career-ending injury lurking.
It's still an over-used cliche, but there are differences in circumstances.

Everett is a moron. But he does have a right to his opinions as misinformed as they might be. I don't agree with his views on gays but what irks me is that he apparently thinks most fans are stupid. But I guess most fans think he's stupid too.

I'm all for players being honest about their opinions, especially since so many of them always say nothing but the "right" things that are bland and give away nothing of what they really think, but at the same time they've also got to know when to shut up too.

This morning I had a meeting with the current Lt. Governor, Kevin Sullivan. When Rowland's name came up, he said:
