Steve Drumwright Grand Central Editor Posted April 13 Posted April 13 Even a walk-off couldn't save Ronny Mauricio's roster spot. Mauricio being sent back to Triple-A Syracuse by the New York Mets was the corresponding move after Tommy Pham's promotion was made official Monday. Pham was promoted from Low A St. Lucie after being signed to a minor-league deal a couple weeks ago. The Mets had three open spots on their 40-man roster, so no move there was necessary. Mauricio, a third baseman, was promoted a week ago when left fielder Juan Soto went on the 10-day injured list with a strained right calf. Mauricio only appeared in two games, but had a pinch-hit walk-off single in his season debut for a 4-3 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday. His only other appearance was Friday against the A's, going 0-for-3 with two strikeouts. In 89 games with the Mets over the last three seasons, Mauricio has a .234/.294/.359 slash line with eight homers, 20 RBIs and 11 stolen bases. View full rumor
