He is the top Mets prospect and, with Christian Scott on the recovery shelf, one of the ripest ones on the pitching side too.


He has a good chance to open as high as Syracuse, where he finished relatively meekly last season after strong partial campaigns through Brooklyn and Bingo. He only got four inning in big-league camp but that gave him a chance to show off his old-school backup slider and his older-school seventies appearance. Seriously, he looks like he should be driving a dirt bike through a Roger Corman movie.


What his next act will be is the question on the table.

He's pretty much going to do what Christian Scott did last year. Wow us early, then slowly get worse.


Actually, I didn't realize Scott ended up doing as poorly as he did.


I'm thinking 5-6 starts, 2-1 W-L, 3.50 ERA.
