Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2025 Posted August 9, 2025 Brewers had 3 runs on 4 hits yesterday and now 2 runs on 2 hits today, so 5 runs/6 hits over 10 innings total. The Mets have helped out with a combined 7 walks, 3 errors, and now a WP.But at least we have four solo HRs* MLG avg solo HRs = 58%; NYM avg = 64%
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 9, 2025 Posted August 9, 2025 Something about Jeff that he slides in head-first, but unlike so many, manages to hang on to the bag.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 9, 2025 Posted August 9, 2025 Keith forgets that Tony Phillips (a) was a Met, ( tried to beat the living hell out of his manager (fellow ex-Met Mike Marshall) while playing in the indy leagues, © got arrested and convicted for possession, and (d) died young. He came out of retirement at 56 to play in the Pacific Association, and was dead shortly after.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 9, 2025 Posted August 9, 2025 Keith called Soto's homer a Vinny Bomberino. It's a very Kotter-y booth this weekend.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 9, 2025 Posted August 9, 2025 Strange to see Ronny Maurcio come in for (presumably) defense so early.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 9, 2025 Posted August 9, 2025 When they pulled Montas so early, you knew we would see Stanek sooner or later. We are now seeing Stanek.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2025 Posted August 9, 2025 They got two new high leverage relievers at the deadline. And we still get Stanek.I think Rob Manfred is running this team.Later
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2025 Posted August 9, 2025 Baltimore Chops and Texas Leaguers ... the Brewers would kick ass in 1950s era minor league games.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 9, 2025 Posted August 9, 2025 Stanek — a liner heading toward the gap turns into an out, but a doink popup down the line from the worst hitter in either lineup catches chalk and burns him.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 9, 2025 Posted August 9, 2025 Mauricio's yellow shoes make him look like he's playing for the Brewers.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2025 Posted August 9, 2025 (edited) So tonight the Brewers have 2 runs on a two-out bouncing ball to SS (E6), one more on an even slower bouncing ball to SS (6-3 FC), another one on a bouncing ball to 3B (they didn't call it an E5 on the guy brought in for better defense, but I do)then two more on a two-out/two-run HR following an inning-ending play that apparently came a pitch thrown 1/4 second too lateSo that's six of their seven runs that either shouldn't have or, with even a tiny morsel of luck, wouldn't have scored. But at least we have three solo HRs!
