Team meeting over. Team responds next. Hopefully.

Frankie Montas vs. Mike Burrows, 1:35 PM, Channel 11 on your dial.

I think now that the Bezos/Sanchez wedding festivities are over* everyone should be much more able to concentrate on the job at hand and play some inspired baseball.

* They are, aren't they? Please tell me they are!

On that fly ball to Nimmo, it was probably too close to the line for him to let it drop and stop the play from being a run-scoring sacrifice fly, but even so, Montas was struggling so much on the mound that the Mets could not afford to give away an out.

I was expecting a three run bomb, but ya know I'm on metslucinogenics.

Gary has mis-called non-catches at least three times recently and maybe more. I don't remember him doing that before.

Anyway, so that's two balls that have hit NYM gloves this inning but neither became an out.

When it rains ...

Did you really think that Vientos AB was going to end any other way?

Well, I didn't think Burrows had a curve in him that he could throw and get over in such a tight spot. Vientos was pulling the slider and fouling off the fastball and then he pulled that pitch out of his ass. Good for him. Bad for all that is good and beautiful.

Montas gave them more than you might have guessed a few innings ago. Would be nice they could make it relevant.

OE: Torrens cooperates.

But can Gary & Ron name the only player in MLB history whose name started with M - M?

Also, I think this is also the first time they've revealed the specific town of Keith's new digs: Hilton Head

I always figured him for a 'Low Country' guy.

Yes, I picked up on that, Keith might not be pleased

It's really an unfair question as he only had four ML games to his credit back in 1989.

I just remember him because of the unusual name (IIRC it was said to be Turkish in origin) and because he was a Yanqui for those four games.

Yesterday they talked the talk.

But today they didn't walk the walk.
