Yanx go down 6-1 to the Reds in Cincy. The lone run was, of course, a 1st inning Judge HR.

Phils off tonight before starting a three-game series tomorrow in Houston

And in your nightly 'Big Dumper' alert: Cal Raleigh is 2/5 in Minnesota including his 32nd HR

Checking in on some actual competitive games being played tonight: Judged just popped out with 2-out/bases loaded in Top-10th to keep the game tied in Cincy.

Reds will send 9-1-2 to the plate trying to score the ghost runner.

I'm only watching this game because I couldn't find and other major league games involving a NY team.

Reds also don't score in the 10th.

This is the Reds 8th extra inning game this year including two 11 inning games, so it's their 10th inning batting.

They've lost all of their first seven XI games and have scored ONE run in total by going one-for-28 in 10th or 11th innings.

I didn't think that was even possible.

Yanx plate one (without a hit) in Top-11

Reds answer back and now have bases loaded/no outs w/former Dodger Gavin Lux to PH

Oh yeah, and Elly de la Cruz in the guy on 3rd. Yanx going to a five man infield

The Reds can't possibly NOT win this one, can they?

BASE HIT AND THE REDS WIN!!

They've taken the first two of this series and 12 of 17 overall.

This makes me feel a little bit less shitty and hate the sport of baseball a little bit less.

Nice little day game match up in Milwaukee this afternoon.

Pirates with Paul Skenes on the bump hooked up against the Brewers featuring rookie Jacob Misiorowski.

Misiorowski -- a 23 y/o, 6' 7" righty, a 2nd round pick out of that baseball powerhouse of Crowder College in Neosho, MO -- now has allowed 2 runs on 3 hits over

his first three ML games (16 innings). He wound up with his 3rd W in 3 games as the Crew chased Skenes after four IP for the shortest outing of his career.

4-2 Brewers was the final in front of a mid-week day game home crowd of 42,000

Obviously it's still too early to know what Misiorowski is going to become, but it would be good for the NL Central if those two became a 'must see' match-up on

a regular basis over the next few years. Y'know, before one or both leave for one of the coastal teams via FA-gency.

With today's game being the Mets last game of the month of June (off-day tomorrow) it looks like Juan Soto is on pace to win the NL's June player of the month award. For the month, Soto's leading the league in OPS, SLG, OBP, HR's, wRC+, wOBA, wRC, fWAR and probably some other stuff (like OPS+) which I can't verify because the Fangraphs site suddenly freezed up on me and maybe crashed.

After a slow start, Soto now ranks in the NL overall top 10 in bWAR, offensive bWAR, OBP, OPS, Runs, HR's, OPS+, Runs Created, Adj. Batting Runs, Adj. Batting Wins, Times on Base, Int. BB and AB/HR.

Braves & Phils have split one-sided victories in the first two games of their weekend series, which I guess is a good thing.

Even with the Braves so far behind (-9.0 to the Mets and 9.5 to PHI) I wouldn't like to see them suddenly get a head of steam.

But I'm OK with them winning today if they can pull it off [suarez v Strider].

Yanx have traded shutouts with ATH, winning 2-0 on Friday then getting a 7-0 beating yesterday.

But the bigger story is that Tampa continues to surge (17-8 in June to the Yanx 12-13) and sits just 1/2 out so could replace the Yanx in 1st place before the day is out.

Yanx then go on to face Toronto to start the week with the Jays (14-10 in June) sitting only 3.0 games out at the start of today's action.
