Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 7, 2024 Posted July 7, 2024 Looking for a lefty reliever? The Mets have acquired Matt Gage from the Dodgers in exchange for cash.Gage, who hails from the capital district/Albany region of New York, has had success in short stints the last two years with Toronto and Houston, and while his numbers look pretty indifferent in AAA this year, you've got to make allowances for pitching in the PCL.He wears a chestnut brown beard, so he should fit right in to the Mets bullpen, and carries a might bit of extra mass in his middle. Strong thighs, big butt, prominent gut.He was immediately optioned to Syracuse so they can test-drive him before deploying.[fimg=450]https://cdn.theathletic.com/cdn-cgi/image/width=1200,height=1200,fit=cover/app/uploads/2022/06/23193108/USATSI_18533016-scaled-e1656027130962.jpg[/fimg]
