Nice to get a lead for a change ... but that inning coulda/shoulda been better.

One more hit blows up the inning entirely, but we don't do those kinds of hits.

"You can't be too Larry Fine." — Keith Hernandez

As Miami scores their first pitch on an 0-2 pitch. Shoulda been Larry Finer, I guess.

Two runs in, bases loaded and one out ... and then the next seven hitters go down consecutively and quietly.

And now instead of a potential blowout we have a tie.

The Mets are going so rough offensively, instead of hitting a deep drive and trying to wave it fair, Lindor was reduced to using his magic waving skills by hitting a foul pop and trying to wave it out of play.

For what it's worth, it did go out of play and he drove in a run with a groundout later in the at-bat.

"Steals without a throw"

We're so used to hearing that phrase when the Mets are on defense that it's a nice switch to hear it this way for a change.

At 3–2 with the bases loaded, my wife remembered that I hadn't taken the chihuahua out.

Bases were loaded, but the family comes first, so I left the Mets to the fates, and out we went, in the rain.

I came back in and as I came up the stairs, I was thinking, "It had BETTER be 7–2 now."

And hey! Look! It's 7–2!

No hits but a couple of at'em balls at 2B, an attempted steal (foul ball) and two runs scored.

Y'know, your typical slacker effort.

Garrett certainly looks sharper when he enters at the top of an inning than when he comes in with runners on.

Just need one out from him here and two runs are home.
