Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2024 Posted April 14, 2024 ESPN must split/shrink the screen during their SNB for at least 30% of the time. They shrink it to show the player who's mic'd up at the expense of the game itself (like we have to SEE the player talking in addition to hearing him)They shrink it to show their announcers at the expense of showing the game itself as if THEY are the ones we tuned in to seeThey do the same with the now standard but always meaningless in-game manager interviews. They do it whenever they cut to Buster Olney like we want to see him over whatever game action happens to be going on... etc.Funny, I don't see them putting MNF games into a shrunken box six or seven times a night but of course they LIKE football but don't like baseball, don't know anyone who likes baseball, and therefore assume that no one else does either.
