Six Mets have now made their "official" club debuts in games that predate their actual club debuts.



Jeff Reardon first pitched for the Mets on August 25, 1979, but is listed as having debuted (as a Met and in the majors) on June 17, 1979, reflecting his participation in a suspended game that was completed on August 27, 1979. This bends time and space in an unacceptable manner.



Your all-time Met Count chronology during 1979 should read:

295. Andy Hassler (rather than 296; June 19, 1979 debut)

296. Jose Cardenal (rather than 297; August 4, 1979 debut)

Five players who debuted as Mets after the suspended game of April 11, 2021, played in its resumption on August 31, 2021, and now show up on Baseball-Reference as Mets on April 11, 2021.



Patrick Mazeika (debuted as a Met May 5, 2021; MLB debut as well)

Brandon Drury (May 21, 2021)

Javier Baez (July 31, 2021)

Chance Sisco (August 18, 2021)
